Who the course is for
This course is open to everyone aged 18 and over.
Entry requirements
Students must have completed a C1 language course within the last 6 months or have the Cambridge C1 Advanced (or equivalent). Alternatively, prospective students can take a level test and have a brief interview with the teacher.

Aims
This course aims to prepare students for the Cambridge C2 Proficiency exam with practice of the grammar, vocabulary, language skills, topics and exam skills needed for success in all four papers of the exam: Reading and Use of English, Writing, Listening and Speaking. Upon successful completion of the course, students should be further along their learning path towards the Cambridge Proficiency exam.

Teaching staff

Abigail Marie Jones
From the Lake District, in the United Kingdom, she studied at the University of Liverpool where she obtained a double degree in Hispanic Studies and English. She also has two Masters degrees: one in Shakespeare, from the same university; and the other, from the University of Middlesex, in Novel Writing.
During the last decade, she has taught English classes to students of all ages and with different objectives, whether it be conversation for travel, lessons designed specifically for a particular job or focused on the Cambridge exams. She worked for six years in an academy in Cassà de la Selva and then four more years at The Hub, Girona, where she had the opportunity to design and teach her own English literature courses in civic centers.

Teaching and Assessment
The course will focus on:
- Task achievement: what this means and how to achieve it.
- Understanding the reasoning behind a task.
- Timing and planning.
- Accuracy and appropriacy.
- Skills: speaking, writing, listening, reading.
- Control and flexibility when using grammatical structures.
- The use of high level vocabulary.
Assessment will be based on class based and homework activities, combined with model exams to monitor progress and eligibility for the Cambridge exam.

Evaluation system
To qualify for an attendance certificate, students must attend a minimum of 50% of the classes.
