Conferences changed from hybrid format to online format due to COVID-19 and its long-term implications.
From 14th to 18th of June of 2021
With the holding of two key events, 2021 will be an important year for health promotion in Europe. Between 14 and 18 June 2021, Girona (Catalonia, Spain) will host both the 11th IUHPE European Conference on Health Promotion and the 6th International Conference on Salutogenesis. Given the situation caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, the conference organisers are planning the events in online format (virtual attendance) with an online structure to facilitate the participation of professionals from different countries.
The theme of the 11th IUHPE European Conference on Health Promotion, taking place from 14 to 16 June 2021, is “Health Promotion: Transformative action in a changing Europe”. The event aims to put the spotlight on the health promotion work carried out by various institutions and organisations across Europe, and to promote networking and the exchange of ideas.
With the theme of “Advancing Salutogenesis towards thriving societies”, the 6th International Conference on Salutogenesis, taking place from 17 to 18 June 2021, aims to advance theory and research on Salutogenesis, and to share and discuss innovative approaches in the four topic areas.
2021 will also be an important year for the International Union for Health Promotion and Education, which will be celebrating its 70th anniversary. This event celebrates IUHPE’s leadership role in shaping global health promotion over the last 70 years and progressing the development of health promotion research, practice and policy in collaboration with our global network of members and partners. Through a series of panel discussions and presentations, critical insights are exchanged on the evolution and future development of health promotion as a key transformative strategy for advancing health, wellbeing, and equity. The anniversary will be celebrated in Europe at a special event scheduled for 16 June, coinciding with the two conferences.
