Listed below are the general terms and conditions governing enrolment on the courses and programmes of the University of Girona Foundation: Innovation and Training. Specific terms and conditions may exist for enrolment on certain courses, which may partially modify the present general terms and conditions.
1. General enrolment criterion
The payment of a course may be pre-enrollment + enrollment (when indicated expressly) or directly by enrollment.
2. Pre-registration
For certain courses, when specifically indicated, there is a pre-registration process in addition to enrolment. Pre-registration entitles prospective students to reserve a place on the course. In order for the pre-registration to be considered confirmed, the stipulated amount in each case must be paid within seven days of submitting the pre-registration form. The amount paid for pre-registration will be deducted from the full amount of the course. By pre-registering, the student is entitled to reserve a place on the course until 20 days before its start date, at which point they will have to enrol on the course and pay the enrolment fee. If payment of the enrolment fee is not received before the stipulated deadline, it will be understood that the prospective student is giving up their place on the course. In this case, the pre-registration fee will not be reimbursed.
3. Confirmation of enrolment
Whatever the case, in order for the enrolment to be confirmed it is necessary to pay the full amount of the course at least 20 days before its start date or before the stipulated deadline. In the case of courses which do not have a pre-registration fee, payment of the enrolment fee entitles the student to reserve their place on the course. If due to exceptional circumstances, duly justified, the student begins the course without having paid the enrolment fee, it cannot be considered under any circumstances that the Foundation is waiving its right to be paid the enrolment fee by admitting the student on the course. The student is obliged to pay the corresponding enrolment by virtue of registering for the course and participating in its activities. In the event of a breach of this obligation, the Foundation reserves the right to take the necessary legal action to enforce its rights.
4. Enrolment beyond the deadline
If enrolment is carried out beyond the established deadline, the pre-registration fee (if there is one) and the enrolment fee must be paid immediately.
5. Medical insurance (internacional students)
It is an obligatory requirement for international students to obtain medical insurance before the trip. This insurance must cover assistance in the case of accident, illness and any other circumstances requiring medical assistance which could occur; including repatriation in the event of death. The insurance must cover the entirety of the study period and must be emitted by an insurance company recognised in Spain.
6. Annulment of the enrolment
Students who annul their enrolment at least 20 days before the start of the course or before the stipulated deadline are entitled to a full reimbursement of the amount paid, except for the pre-registration fee, if there is one.
In this case, the pre-registration fee will be withheld by the Foundation for a period of two years from the enrolment annulment date. This amount can be used to register for or enrol on other courses of the Foundation. The enrolment amount will be reimbursed.
In the event of the enrolment being annulled less than 20 days before the start of the course, or beyond the stipulated deadline, neither the enrolment fee nor the pre-registration fee will be reimbursed.
7. Documents that must be attached in order to enrol
In the case of master’s degrees and postgraduate courses, an attested copy of the student’s university qualification (or of the receipt of the qualification) and a copy of the student’s ID document must be provided.
In the case of specialist courses, a copy of the student’s ID document is required.
Legalization of foreign qualifications*
* You can send it to us no later than 20 days before the start of the activity.
About the legalization of documents issued abroad
No legalization is required for documents issued in Member States of the European Union or in signatory States of the Agreement on the European Economic Area.
In all other cases, any documents issued abroad that applicants wish to submit in these procedures must be duly legalized in accordance with the following conditions:
a) Documents issued in countries that are signatories to the Hague Convention of 5 October 1961:
The Hague apostille affixed by the competent authority of the country in question will be sufficient.
See the list of countries that are signatories to the Hague Convention of 5 October 1961.
b) Documents issued in any other country:
The documents must be legalized through the diplomatic channel in the country in which the studies were carried out. As such, they must be submitted to:
1. The Ministry of Education of the country of origin. In some countries, such as Japan or Brazil, the universities themselves fulfil this function.
2. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the country of origin.
3. The diplomatic or consular body of Spain in the country in which the documents have been issued.
Translation of documents
In the case of foreign qualification certificates, please bear in mind that if they have not been issued in Catalan, Spanish or English, they must be translated into Catalan or Spanish by one of the following parties:
1. A sworn translator, duly authorised or registered in Spain.
2. Any diplomatic or consular body of Spain located abroad.
3. The diplomatic or consular body in Spain of the country of which the applicant is a resident or, if applicable, in which the document was issued.
?4. An official translator abroad whose signature has been duly legalized.
8. Payment instalments and the student’s withdrawal from the course
The student’s withdrawal from a course does not release them from paying any outstanding instalments. In the event of a breach of this obligation, the Foundation reserves the right to take the necessary legal action to enforce its rights.
9. Financing
The student may take advantage of the special conditions agreed by the Foundation with different banks for the financing of the enrolment fee. The information on these conditions, as well as on the possibility of government subsidies for companies, will be listed in the information on each course or can be requested from the administrative services of the Foundation.
10. Cancellation of courses
The Foundation reserves the right to cancel the course if it fails to obtain the minimum number of enrolments. Those already enrolled on the course will be informed of the cancellation at the earliest opportunity. The Foundation will pay the amount of all the payments made in the Foundation and will pay the rest of the bank charges made by the student, if previously they have been authorized in writing by the Foundation.
11. Accident insurance
The existence of an insurance policy linked to the enrolment of courses will be clearly stated together with the corresponding course information. If this information is not provided, it means that the Foundation does not make it obligatory to take out this insurance policy.
You will find the conditions here.
12. Work placements
According to Royal Decree 1/1996, Legal Protection of Minors, amended by Act 26/2015 and Act 45/2015, all volunteers and professionals who work on a regular basis with minors must provide a certificate demonstrating a clean criminal records check in the Central Sex Offenders Register. Students undertaking work placements, who will have to work with minors on a regular basis, also have to present this certificate to the Fundació before the placement starts.
The Certificate for Crimes of a Sexual Nature, certifies a clean record of criminal convictions for crimes of a sexual nature, or, if that is the case, the record of criminal convictions for sex crimes. Certificates issued by the Central Sex Offenders Register inform of criminal convictions passed by judicial bodies and the date of the conviction.

13. Use of distance media in teaching and evaluation activities
a) For proper attendance control, the student must enter the videoconferencing session with a username that facilitates their identification, preferably their surname and first name. Otherwise, the student may not be admitted to the conference room and may therefore be considered a non-participant in the session.
b) Since active participation in videoconferencing sessions constitutes an important part of the assessment of the student, in order to measure their achievement of the corresponding skills, the student must prove their participation in video conferencing sessions by activating the camera during the session and, when indicated by teaching staff, through oral participation. The student must also participate in any group activities that may be included in the videoconferencing session. Otherwise, the assessment of the student’s participation may be negative.
c) The session may be recorded in order for it to remain available to students of the training course. As such, the student may choose to turn off their camera and not participate through their microphone during the recording. When the recording is completed, the student must prove their participation as indicated above and whenever requested to do so by the faculty.
d) The session may be recorded if it is an evaluation session. As such, the student is obliged to keep their camera and microphone switched on if so indicated by the teaching staff. The session will be recorded exclusively for evaluation purposes.
e) Recording teaching activities with your own devices is not allowed, without prior and express authorization from the teacher.
The teacher's image and voice are attributes of his/her person and protected by law. Using them for purposes other than study and research would constitute an interference with image rights. They should not be used disrespectfully.
The intellectual property rights of the teaching materials, including the content of the recordings, belong to the teacher and to the Fundació Universitat de Girona: Innovació i Formació. These materials can only be used personally for study and research.
14. Intellectual property rights of the projects produced by students
The intellectual property rights of the projects produced by students will be held exclusively by the students. By enrolling on the course, the student authorises the Foundation to use their project for teaching and research purposes in accordance with the following guidelines:
a) A copy of the project may be stored and incorporated in a repository that is accessible to students and teaching staff, who may use it exclusively for teaching and research purposes.
b) Whenever a project is used in this way, the name of the author must be listed, along with a reference stating that the project was produced as part of one of the Foundation’s courses.
c) If the student disseminates the project following its assessment, a reference must be included of the fact that it was produced as part of one of the Foundation’s courses, indicating the name of the project supervisor.
15. Issuance fee of University of Girona qualification certificate
The enrolment fee of courses that lead to a qualification issued by the University of Girona does not include the issuance fee of the qualification certificate, unless specifically stated otherwise.
16. Requesting an invoice
An invoice will be sent to students who, after paying the enrolment fee, specifically request one, indicating in the request their name or the corporate name of their company, tax ID number and address. By issuing an invoice the Foundation is legally obliged to submit the corresponding declaration to the tax authorities.
17. Personal data protection
The personal data of those enrolled on courses of the Foundation will be treated in accordance with the legislation governing personal data protection. It will be incorporated in a file entitled “Academic management”, owned by the Foundation, or in the file of the same name owned by the University of Girona. In the latter case, the data will be treated by the Foundation as an entrusted body of the University of Girona. The enrolment forms will state the name of the file in which the data will be incorporated and the responsibilities involved in its treatment. When required, due to the characteristics of the course, the data may be transferred to other entities involved in the organisation of the course. This circumstance will be listed in the description of the course. Furthermore, when necessary, the data will be transferred to the University of Girona for the purposes of accrediting the completed studies. When the qualifications or certificates are recognised or validated by other academic institutions, the aforementioned institutions will be provided with the data necessary to issue the corresponding certificates or qualifications. Students may at any time exercise their right to access, correct, delete and refuse the use of the aforementioned data by contacting the Foundation through any means.
From Monday to Thursday from 9:00 am to 13:00 pm
Some topics may be subject to changes due to mise en place and post-service requirements, which will be communicated to students on the first day for their planning.
